Traffic chaos in the Saale-Orla district: closures and diversions until 2024!
The Lower Road Traffic Authority has published current information on traffic disruptions and closures in the Saale-Orla district. These measures are necessary to carry out construction work and improve the infrastructure. Road users should exercise increased caution and consider possible alternative routes.
One of the most important measures concerns the federal highway B 90, which remains closed between Neumühle and the Weitisberga junction. The closure, which originally began on April 2, 2023, will be extended until December 20, 2024 while work is carried out on the embankment. Detours are shown via Wurzbach and Lehesten.
Further closures and diversions
In Blintendorf the town thoroughfare will be closed on October 21st and 22nd due to deliveries for a new building. The diversion leads via the B 90. Similarly, the Görkwitzer Weg in Oettersdorf will remain closed from October 14th to November 8th as demolition work is taking place here. However, an inner-city detour is possible for cars.
Existing closures also affect Bad Lobenstein, where the streets Graben and Am Tor are closed until November 30, 2024 due to the construction of a rain overflow basin. Traffic will be rerouted via the B 90 and Blankenstein. Tree trimming work is planned in Blankenstein on October 14th and 15th, which will also close the L 1093 between Selbitzplatz and Lichtenberger Straße.
The work in Ebersdorf on Hospital Street, which has been underway since April 2023, will continue until November 29, 2024. However, an inner-city diversion ensures that traffic can be maintained.
Another critical point is the state road L 3002, which has been closed since September 30th due to road renovations. This concerns the section between Tanna/Schilbach and Gefell. The closure is expected to last until October 15th, requiring a diversion via the A9.
In Gertewitz, the K 210 will be closed for several months from October 7th for major expansion, while in Neustadt-Lichtenau the L 1110 will remain completely closed until the end of October due to work on water pipes.
There are also other road construction works in Peuschen and Rodacherbrunn on the list. In Peuschen, the local road between several house numbers will remain completely closed until December 20th, while Rodacherbrunn will also be affected by road construction work until the end of October.
The Dr. Karl-Rauch-Straße in Saalburg will be closed from August 19th to November 29th in order to renew drinking water pipes and sewerage systems, and in Schleiz there will be a construction work-related closure of Konrad-Duden-Straße until December 20th. Finally, the wooden bridge between Sparnberg and Rudolphstein will be closed to all traffic until December 31, 2024 due to damage.
In summary, numerous roads in the region are affected due to various construction and maintenance activities. Road users should keep an eye on the information provided by the Lower Road Traffic Authority to plan their routes accordingly. These announcements may mean changes to commutes and notices of potential time delays.
