Bavaria's bishops call for charity and welcome culture!

At the beginning of Lent, the Catholic bishops of Bavaria have given a clear appeal: they call for an increased welcome culture and a deep examination of faith. In their shepherd letters, prominent church representatives, such as Munich's cardinal Reinhard Marx, call on to respect human dignity, especially those of the migrants. The cardinal emphasizes: "The upcoming generations will only have prosperity and equal opportunities if there is a real welcome culture in our country." This is particularly important at a time when many people are to flee from persecution and poverty and be rejected at the borders, as Marx urgently explains, as well as "https://www.bistum-erfurt.de/glaube-leben/fastenzeit/"> reports the diocese of Erfurt .

The bishops not only get into the discussion about migration, but also indicate the dangers of misinformation and alternative truths. The Bamberg Archbishop Herwig Gössl warns: "There is increasingly lacking a decisive basis for discussions and for the mutual understanding: the truth is missing." It is all the more important that believers actively live their faith during Lent and take care of the community. Augsburg's bishop Bertram Meier encourages people to reflect on their own patience and to pay different time and attention.

Lent time and children's service

In addition to promoting the community, the initiative "Network Kindergottesdienst - Catholic" offers support for church services for children and families. This initiative, which has existed in cooperation with the German Liturgical Institute for three years, aims to enable families to participate simple during Lent. According to Kathpress there are already numerous templates for child and family services that offer valuable impulses for spiritual support.
