A dramatic comeback! SG BBM Bietigheim achieved a spectacular victory in the handball Bundesliga and came back with a 26:21 over HSG Wetzlar. In front of 3,548 enthusiastic spectators, the guests showed that they did not want to give up in the relegation battle. After six defeats in a row, this victory was a real liberation for coach Iker Romero's team.
The Bietigheim players were hungry for success and that was reflected in their performance. Right winger Moritz Strosack was the star of the game with an incredible six goals. Till Hermann also contributed four goals to the victory and praised the team performance: “We did a great job over 60 minutes and rewarded ourselves for a good performance.” The Wetzlar team, on the other hand, weakened themselves: Right winger Domen Novak received a red card in the 50th minute after an elbow strike against Paco Barthe and let his team down in the crucial phase. “It was clear to both teams that there was a lot at stake, but we wanted the two points more,” continued Hermann.

The goalscorers for HSG Wetzlar were Mappes with six goals and Novak with five (1 seven-meter penalty). Strosack (6), Claus (4) and Hermann (4) shone for SG BBM Bietigheim. With this win, SG BBM now has 6:12 points in their account and all three wins away from home. The next challenge awaits on November 16th, when TSV Hannover-Burgdorf comes to the EgeTrans Arena.
