New gospel project in Jever: Open trial day on January 18!
The Gospel project Jever is looking for new singers for the upcoming concerts in 2025. An open rehearsal day will take place on January 18 from 11 a.m. in the Evangelical Community House on Kirchplatz 13 in Jever. Under the direction of choir director Stefan Schauer, interested parties can take part in free and without obligation.
In 2025, several rehearsal weekends are planned, which include the following dates: 18th and 19th January, March 29th and 30th, 28th and 29th June and from September 12th to September 14th, the last weekend also includes a Friday. An additional rehearsal weekend is scheduled for May 16 to 18, which will be completed with a concert at "Jever sounds" on Saturday.
Important concert dates
The performances of the gospel project take place on several dates. There is a concert weekend in Jever on September 26th and 27th, with the concert on Sunday in the city church. A concert in Schleswig-Holstein will also follow the performances on October 3 and 4. The repertoire includes gospel fairs with various music styles, including jazz, blues, rock and pop elements, as well as classic gospels.
A special highlight this year will be the rock oratorio "Eversmiling Liberty" by Jens Johannsen and Erling Kullberg. The rehearsals for the new gospel fair take place on four to five weekends a year, with a first performance on September 27 in the city church of Jever.
The organization of the gospel project recently experienced a change: Katrin Ritter was said goodbye as a long-time choir spokeswoman. She is preserved as a singer, but moves into the second row from the front row. A new board team takes on their tasks, which includes Brigitte Landschoff, Helga Zeitz, Ute Mecklenburg and Astrid Ahrendt.
