Table tennis quarter-finals: pure excitement in the cup competition!
The 2025 table tennis season is gathering pace as club teams prepare for the upcoming quarter-finals of the men's cups. From January 6th to 12th, 2025, the players will be challenged in the men's A, B, C and D competitions. The draw for the cup games took place on December 20th in the TSV Over-Bullenhausen sports center and was led by cup representative Benjamin Kiel.
In the Men's A Cup, defending champion Todtglüsinger SV meets TV Vahrendorf, with the latter starting with a 2-0 lead in every set due to the class difference. SV Dohren, who was last year's finalist in the B Cup, has also achieved a 2-0 lead and faces the second representative of TV Vahrendorf, whose game has been postponed to February 7, 2025. Furthermore, MTV Laßrönne, the defending champion of the men's B class, will play against TSV Over-Bullenhausen, a team against which they already won an exciting duel last season. The two teams had a similar result in the first round league game in December, when TSV Over-Bullenhausen also won 6-4.
Quarter-final games and exciting duels
In the men's B class, the autumn champions TuS Fleestedt and MTV Hoopte II, who are unbeaten so far this season, also have to face each other. A special focus is also on MTV Fliegeberg 1, which after many years has again reached the round of the last eight in the men's B competition and will play against TuS Jahn Hollenstedt 2 in the Sportarena am Elbdeich on Monday.
At the same time, there is great anticipation for the Liebherr Cup Final Four 2025, which will take place on January 4, 2025 in the ratiopharm arena Ulm/Neu-Ulm. This event marks the tenth edition of the tournament in this arena. Advance ticket sales started on October 23, 2023. Last year's record: 5,000 spectators experienced a sold-out event.
The day of the event begins at 11 a.m. with the semi-finals, which will be held at two tables in parallel. This will be followed by the final to determine the cup winner for the 2024/25 season. The arena opens 90 minutes before the semi-finals and an early bird discount of 20 percent applies until October 25, 2024 on all available tickets, which cost €14 in the cheapest category. Tickets can be purchased online, by telephone or at ticket offices. The quarterfinals include:

- TSV Bad Königshofen vs. TTC OE Bad Homburg
- TTC RhönSprudel Fulda-Maberzell vs. SV Werder Bremen
- 1. FC Köln vs. 1. FC Saarbrücken TT
The winners of these quarter-finals move on to the semi-finals, which further determines the exciting course of the tournament.
