MT Melsungen welcomes Flensburg: A top game full of excitement!
Another exciting chapter in the DAIKIN Handball Bundesliga is approaching! On Friday evening, MT Melsungen welcomes SG Flensburg-Handewitt in the sold-out Rothenbach Hall in Kassel. Kick-off will sound at 8 p.m. and fans can look forward to a thrilling duel that will be broadcast live on Dyn.
MT Melsungen leads the table with 18 points, while SG Flensburg-Handewitt lurks in third place with 17 points. Despite this strong starting position, Melsungen's sports director Michael Allendorf sees himself as an outsider: "Unfortunately we have some injured and ailing players. That's why I see us more as outsiders." The injuries to Amine Darmoul and Aaron Mensing as well as the uncertainty surrounding Nikolaj Enderleit, who is questionable after a blow to the thigh, cast a shadow over the MT's preparations.
Challenge for the MT
Coach Roberto Garcia Parrondo remains optimistic and emphasizes the strength of Melsung's defense. "We can't allow much against Flensburg. It will be crucial to defend their fast counterattack game," he explains. Flensburg have been in good form recently and have a lot of self-confidence. But Parrondo relies on the support of the home fans: “With our fans behind us, anything is possible.” The MT has already proven this season that it can play well in top games in front of its own audience.
There will also be a raffle campaign around the game where you can win a worn MT jersey. A ticket costs three euros and the proceeds go to MT's youth work. The Rothenbach Hall opens its doors at 6.30 p.m. and referees Ramesh and Suresh Thiyagarajah will officiate the game. Be ready for a handball highlight!
