On Friday, April 11, 2025, at 7:00 p.m., the Munich Künstlerhaus will open its doors to the eagerly awaited exhibition “Silhouette Cuts: Paper Art for Eternity.” This unique event celebrates the art of paper cutting, which experienced a true renaissance in the early 20th century. Famous artists such as Lotte Reininger and Ernst Moritz Engert influenced this form of paper art, which flourished in Munich and is documented in the art magazines of the time.
A look into the past
The exhibition features an impressive collection of over 7,000 original paper cutouts spanning four centuries. These works of art are not only a feast for the eyes, but also a window into the creative past. The exhibition will be open on Monday, April 14th and the following days until April 27th, 2025. Regular opening hours are from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with one exception on Sunday, April 27th, where the exhibition will remain open until 4:00 p.m.
