Power outages in Saxony-Anhalt: almost 18 minutes without light!

Magdeburg/Bonn – Red alert for the power supply in Saxony-Anhalt! The latest data from the Federal Network Agency shows that the region is severely affected by power outages compared to other federal states. Last year, consumers here had to go without electricity for an average of almost 18 minutes - that's a real shock when you consider that the national average is just 12.8 minutes!

However, the Federal Network Agency makes it clear that the general quality of supply in Germany remains at a high level. Only in Thuringia and Rhineland-Palatinate were downtimes longer last year. Thuringia leads with an alarming 21.5 minutes, while Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania recorded the fewest failures with just 8.3 minutes. The Environment and Energy Ministry of Saxony-Anhalt sees a possible reason for the frequent failures in the long overhead lines, which may be more susceptible to disruptions.

Power outages: A pressing problem

The situation in Saxony-Anhalt raises questions and causes concern among citizens. While the Federal Network Agency praises the general quality of supply, the reality for the local people remains different. The repeated power outages could not only disrupt citizens' everyday lives, but also have economic impacts. Those responsible are called upon to find solutions to stabilize the electricity supply in the region and to take the population's concerns seriously.
