Ice rink opens in Freital: ice skating fun and the first ice disco!

Freital.The countdown is running! On November 15th, the Freital ice rink in the Hains leisure center will open its doors to all winter sports enthusiasts. From 10 a.m., ice skaters, big and small, can conquer the glittering ice surface in the picturesque Rabenauer Grund. Emma Nadolny, the grove's marketing director, promises that anyone who doesn't have their own skates can choose from 300 pairs in all sizes on site. A real winter fun for the whole family!

But that's not all! This year there is an exciting innovation: the ice rink's cooling system was updated for a whopping 400,000 euros. The Freital Technical Works laid 50 kilometers of new metal pipelines under the 60 meter long and 30 meter wide area. These are not only more stable, but also more energy efficient than the old plastic pipes. A real advance that ensures optimal ice conditions!

New attractions and events

There are also exciting new products for little ice skaters: practice aids in the shape of penguins, seals and gnomes make skating child's play! If you need a break, you can fortify yourself with snacks and drinks at the umbrella bar. And the best thing: the first ice disco will be celebrated on opening day! From 5 p.m., a DJ will keep the atmosphere on the ice with hits from the 80s, 90s, 2000s and current chart breakers. These ice discos take place every Friday evening, except during holidays.

Another highlight is coming up on November 23rd: the men from the ice speedway will be competing on the oval again! The starting signal is given at 5 p.m., entry opens at 4 p.m. Tickets are available directly at the box office. Freital is becoming a hotspot for ice skating fans and sports enthusiasts!
