Telekom is expanding mobile network: Mayen-Koblenz now even better supplied!
In the district of Mayen-Koblenz, Deutsche Telekom has significantly improved mobile phone supply. Two new locations have been built in the past two months, specifically in the municipalities Kollig and Wierschem. These measures contribute to the fact that the network coverage in the Region becomes more comprehensive and the reception quality within buildings increases.
The company spokeswoman Julia della Peruta said that the need for bandwidth grows by around 30 percent each year. For this reason, Telekom continues to rely on a rapid expansion of the mobile network.
status and future plans
For further expansion, Telekom is dependent on cooperation with municipalities and property owners in order to rent areas for the new locations. Property owners who want to offer an area for a mobile phone location can contact the German radio tower, which is responsible for the construction of the Telekom locations.
At the moment, Telekom operates more than 36,000 mobile phone locations in Germany and puts around 1,500 new locations into operation every year. Information on the availability of the mobile phone network at various places of residence can be called up on the Telekom website, whereby customers can receive a comprehensive overview of the current status of the network expansion.
