Kaiserslautern ready for the yellow bin: This is how it goes!

The city of Kaiserslautern is facing an important change in the waste disposal system: from mid -February 2025 the yellow bin will be introduced. The distribution of the new tons begins in the city center and should be completed by the end of March 2025. This means that the yellow sack is no longer used after delivery of the tons.

According to information from Stadtbildpflegekl.de, the new yellow bin may only be able to enter plastic, metal and composites in the new yellow bin. The collection, transport and the sorting of the packaging takes place by the Jakob Becker Entsorgungs-GmbH company on behalf of the Dual System Zentek. The financing of this system is done through the product purchase and not through the waste fee.

In the local districts, the packaging is still collected exclusively in the yellow tons. During the transition phase, yellow sacks can be picked up free of charge in the recycling centers in the city center until the yellow ton is provided. Every person can take a roll of yellow sacks with them. The yellow tons and the collection of the yellow sacks are emptied every two weeks.
