A shocking case of violence and sexual abuse is currently standing before the Erfurt district court. Mohammad S., a 25-year-old Afghan, must be responsible for the severe crimes, including rape and sexual abuse of a child. On August 31, 2024, he invited two 18-year-old women to his apartment, where the situation escalated quickly. After threatening the two with a machete, he blocked the outcome and demanded that one of the women had to have sex with him to be released. According to the public prosecutor, one of the two women was forced, while the other had to watch motionless, as he fell over her friend. Mohammad S. threatened women with enormous violence and photographed their identification documents to blackmail them later if they complained.

The perpetrator biography of Mohammad S. is also shocking. When he arrived in Germany in 2016, he did not apply asylum and has lived as a tolerated man since then. Psychiatric reports confirm his aggressive behavior and express that despite his psychological problems, he always shows the need for control. In the event of interrogations, S. denies the allegations and claims that his deeds had occurred under the influence of alcohol. In addition, he has to answer for the sexual abuse of a girl under the age of 14, which he incorrectly described as a partner, although he knew that she was a minor. The girl's parents apparently tolerated this "relationship".

The public prosecutor is now calling for draconian punishments: for rape and coercion there are up to six years in prison, while a punishment of four to six years is sought for child abuse. The judgment is expected next Monday, and the indictment informs that there is a high risk of relapse among the accused.
