vegetable pulled pork for grill fans
In addition to the new steak, Planted also presents its product Planted.pulled , a vegan alternative to classic pulled pork. This alternative consists of 100 percent natural ingredients and has a meat-like fiber structure, which is achieved by the combination of peas, oats and sunflower seeds, reports Vegconomist.de. Planted.pulled does not contain soy and gluten, but is enriched with vitamin B12.
The product is offered in 160 gram packs and has a marinade with a smoky-sweet taste. It will be available in selected Edeka branches in the Southwest and Minden-Hannover regions and can also be obtained from your own online shop. The use of sunflower proteins from unused components of oil production also promotes a sustainable circular economy, which is an important aspect of food production today.
sustainability and climate change
Environmental awareness is also a central topic in gardening and grilling. According to the Federal Environment Agency, grilling, in particular the grilled food, causes around 95 percent of climate -relevant emissions. In this context, the development of vegetable alternatives such as Planted products is a step in the right direction. These not only contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, but also for saving on land and water compared to conventional meat production. Studies, such as those of the WWF, show that a plant -based diet can significantly reduce the space required for food production: vegetarian by 46 %, vegan by almost 50 %.
The switch to a diet according to the recommendations of the EAT Lancet Commission could reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 27 % (flexitarian), 47 % (vegetarian) and 48 % (vegan). In view of the current global temperature increase of 3 to 4 degrees, if no measures are taken, each Initiative is important to reduce its own climate footprint. Because 25 % of an average person in Germany's climate footprint does not apply to nutrition, whereby 69 % of animal products are eliminated, as can be seen from a study by the Albert Schweitzer Foundation.
Planted is therefore not only positioned as a provider of tasty, vegetable grill products, but also as a pioneer in the field of sustainability in food production. The atmosphere of the grilling could soon be all about environmental awareness.
