Industrial accident in Brauweiler: Fire brigade saves trapped worker!

In Pulheim-Brauweiler, a dramatic work accident shook the quiet working atmosphere on Thursday afternoon! An employee of a production company was caught in a roller while cleaning a machine. The fire and rescue services were immediately alerted when the shocking news arrived at 2:40 p.m.!

The Pulheim fire department, supported by the Brauweiler and Pulheim fire engines as well as the full-time security guard, rushed to the scene of the accident in the industrial area with almost 30 emergency services. They arrived quickly under the direction of Chief Fire Inspector Maik Billstein. The fire department secured the rollers and worked closely with company employees to dismantle parts of the machine. In the midst of this critical situation, a rescue helicopter was requested to take the seriously injured man to a special clinic as quickly as possible. Since the helicopter could not land directly, the fire department secured the landing site and brought the emergency doctor to the scene.

Last minute rescue!

After intensive rescue measures, the emergency services managed to free the trapped employee. He was immediately treated further in the ambulance and then transported to a special clinic in Cologne. The entire operation lasted about one and a half hours and required the use of seven fire engines as well as two ambulances and an emergency ambulance.

As soon as the emergency services were on their way back, they were alerted again! A traffic accident in Brauweiler required quick action when two cars collided. Fortunately, the two affected people did not have to go to hospital after they were examined by the ambulance service and emergency doctor.
