Attention, postal customers! From January 1, 2025, the postage for letters and postcards will rise to a whopping 95 cents! That means a drastic increase of 25 cents! Old stamps remain valid, but must also be franked. So if you still have the old brands, you should quickly take care of new ones!
Deutsche Post has announced that the price for a standard letter will increase by 10 cents to 95 cents. Approval by the Federal Network Agency is expected in December, so that Swiss Post cannot determine prices itself. This increase also affects other types of letter: the compact letter up to 50 grams will now cost 1.10 euros, also 10 cents more than before. And the prices for packages that are sent via DHL will also increase!
Price increases due to inflation
The mail justifies these drastic price increases with considerable cost increases due to inflation, rising wages and falling letter. The last postage of posters took place in 2022 when the price for a standard letter rose from 80 to 85 cents. The new Porti apply to 2025 and 2026, so there are not much time to adjust to the higher costs!
