Border police stop wanted Romanians: 1200 euros save them from imprisonment!
Duisburg.A dramatic stop at the German-Polish border! A 34-year-old Romanian who was wanted on an arrest warrant in Duisburg was picked up by the federal police. But the end of the story is surprising: the man was allowed to enter the country despite his mistakes!
On Friday, at the border crossing in Pomellen (Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania), the wanted man wanted to enter Germany. The border police quickly discovered that the Duisburg public prosecutor's office was looking for him because of a violation of the compulsory insurance law. An arrest warrant had been issued and the situation appeared to be serious.
An unexpected ending
But the 34-year-old had a plan! He immediately paid the fine of 1200 euros and additional costs of 84.50 euros. This meant he avoided a 40-day prison sentence and was able to continue his journey. A clever move that secured his freedom while also baffling the authorities!
