Pocket thief in the ICE arrested: police discovered stolen camera!

An exciting crime in the express train caused excitement in Germany! In the afternoon of November 16, the federal police in Essen grabbed a 26-year-old pickpocket in the act. The man, an Algerian citizen, was traveling from Dortmund to Essen in ICE 2411 when he attracted the civil servants' attention, which were used in the search and investigative group for pickpockets.

The thief roamed the dodging parts while the officers watched him. Shortly before arriving in Essen, he threw himself on a bag from the luggage shelf and left the train with a stolen suitcase and a laptop bag. Immediately when leaving the train, it was recorded by the police. But that wasn't all! During the search, the officers found valuable camera equipment under his jacket, which he had stuck in Cologne shortly before.

A clever theft

The investigation showed that the 26-year-old had entered the train without any pieces of luggage-a clever thief! In the meantime, the owners of the stolen objects, a 50-year-old woman from Münster and a 65-year-old man from Wiesbaden, had not yet heard of her misfortune. An official was able to quickly find the two and return their stolen things.

But the crime continues! A video evaluation at Bochum train station confirmed that the Algerier had climbed into the train as a luggage. The young man, who had given up the advertisement in Cologne for his stolen camera equipment, was also informed about it and was able to pick up his valuable equipment in the Federal Police Guard in Essen.

The identity of the 26-year-old was found by a fingerprint scan. He was illegally in the country and is now being prosecuted because of severe thefts and his unauthorized stay. The story is not yet over - but this case has already conquered the headlines!
