Young chess star Rouven Brans wins silver chess board 2024!

Rouven Brans achieved a remarkable success at the traditional youth Christmas tournament "Silber's Chess Board" of SV Horst Gelsenkirchen. He is the first young person to have won this tournament in 1988 since the SC Schwarze Lady Osterfeld association was founded. The event took place in a festive atmosphere and attracted 80 participants who competed against each other in the age groups from U 8 to U 20.

A total of 14 clubs from all over the Ruhr area were represented. The chess club Turm Hohenlimburg 1926 e. V. provided the participant with the longest journey. The strongest faction came from the Oberhausen chess club 1887 e. V., who sent 11 players. Some club-free participants also enriched the tournament, which was reported as fully occupied, as das-silberne-schachbrett.de
