Pedelec driver falls in Rhede: driver flees after accident!

A shocking incident occurred on Saturday morning in Rhede when a 55-year-old Pedelec rider was involved in a threatening traffic accident! At 9:30 a.m., the woman was driving in the roundabout on Vardingholter Strasse in the direction of Barloer Strasse when a 72-year-old driver from Borken, who was driving on Gronauer Strasse, hit her rear wheel. The impact caused the cyclist to fall and fortunately only sustained minor injuries, but the consequences of this moment could be more serious.

The spry driver didn't stop for long! Although he initially got out of his car, he left the 55-year-old injured on the ground and decided to simply disappear without carrying out his duties. But fate had other plans - an attentive witness took a photo of the vehicle's license plate and immediately informed the police. Thanks to this courageous intervention, the police were able to act quickly and track down the fleeing driver at his owner's address, where they confiscated the man's driver's license!

Uproar over hit-and-run

This incident not only causes outrage, but also shines a bright light on the issue of road safety. Drivers who do not take their responsibilities seriously must face the consequences. In a constantly changing traffic situation, such acts must not go unpunished! The police are now clarifying all the details and bringing the truth to light. This not only serves justice, but also the protection of all road users!
