Fire brigade use in Bochum: Fire in production hall quickly deleted!
On Friday afternoon, February 14, 2025, the Thyssenkrupp Steel AG fire brigade alerted the Bochum fire brigade at 12:50 p.m. for a fire in a production hall in Bochum Wattenscheid. Extensive forces immediately moved, including the guards Wattenscheid and Downtown as well as several special vehicles from the main fire station and the extinguishing of Heide, Wattenscheid-Mitte, Eppendorf-Höntrop and Querenburg. The special unit drone of the volunteer fire brigade was also on duty to monitor the action from the air, as news.de reported.
When the first emergency services arrived, the fire that had broken out during disassembly work was already deleted by the fire brigade. The Bochum fire brigade then took control of the very smoky production hall to ensure that there were no further dangers. Firefighters worked in mixed squads, equipped with respiratory protection masks and thermal imaging cameras. In order to prevent the fire from spreading to the roof, the drone unit monitored the hall out of the air, as Fireworld.at added.
effective control measures
The control measures lasted about 1.5 hours. Finally, the hall had to be extracted from the Werkfeuerwehr to remove dangerous fire residues. Fortunately, there was no personal injury in this incident. The comprehensive commitment in which around 50 emergency services were involved was successfully completed at 2:45 p.m. The rapid reaction of the fire brigade prevented worse and once again showed the importance of well -organized fire work in industrialized areas.
