Heeslingen celebrates a narrow 1-0 win against Oldenburg – tension until the last minute!
An exciting football game in the Waldstadion! Heeslinger SC has secured itself in the top third of the table with a narrow 1-0 win against VfL Oldenburg. HSC coach Malte Bösch was satisfied after the game: "Of course we can't always set off fireworks. Today it was only enough for a 1-0 win, but in the end the points count." The approximately 180 spectators experienced a fast-paced match with numerous chances, even if only one goal was scored.
The first goal should have been scored in the first few minutes! Heeslingen won the ball and started a quick counterattack, but Abdul Gafar was denied by Oldenburg goalkeeper Kilian Sanden. Both teams played offensively and disrupted early, making for a hectic game. Bösch remarked: "From the outside, a lot of things may have looked very hectic. But the opponent came at us very, very early, which meant that it was hardly possible to build up the game in an orderly manner." However, the Heeslingers created the better chances, while Oldenburg always remained dangerous.
The decisive moment
In the 53rd minute the time had come: Darvin Stüve scored the only goal of the game after Terry Becker dizzyed the visitors' defense and passed him perfectly. The hosts could have even extended the result, but Erik Köhler missed a great chance. Oldenburg pushed for an equalizer until the last minute, and in the 90th minute Fabio Gerke hit the outside post with a free kick. Heeslingen had to fight until the final whistle to secure the narrow victory.
The Heeslinger SC is showing strong and remains in the promotion race! Malte Bösch and his team can be proud of this achievement as Oldenburg continues to look for points.
