At the Christmas market in Ostrhauderfehn, the Osterfehntjer Törfsteker collected a welcome donation of 1000 euros for two local organizations. The proceeds were divided equally and half went to the Rhauderfehn Tafel and the Hospiz-Huus Leer, each of which received 500 euros.
These funds come from the sale of raffle tickets and drinks offered during the Christmas market on the second weekend of Advent. Jens Schmidt, one of the initiators of the association, informed about this generous gesture. The association, whose name in Low German is “Osterfehntjer Törfsteker”, was founded in the summer of 2022 during the shooting festivals in Idafehn and Ostrhauderfehn and has since been active in organizing various events, including the Christmas market.
Fehntjer Advent market 2024
At this market, a Christmas tree at the Fehntjer roundabout will create a festive atmosphere. Santa Claus will also be present at the Volksbank and delight children with sweets.
