Shock for Gifhorn: Cult restaurant Heiweyhs” closes forever!
Suddenly there is silence at the iconic Gifhorn train station - and that has nothing to do with the autumnal weather! A popular restaurant that was a second home for many has closed its doors forever. The loss not only affects the operators and the team, but also the loyal guests who will miss the special atmosphere and the enjoyable moments.
A shock for all lovers of regional cuisine: the iconic restaurant “Heiweyhs” has rung its last serving bell! Operator Marko Weyh, known for his unconventional style and passionate cuisine, announced the sad news via an emotional social media post. The operators of the cult station confirm the final end and let the “Heiweyhs” era in the Gifhorn gastronomy scene come to an end.
An unforgettable chapter closes
The Heiweyhs was a magnet for gourmets and attracted attention with its spectacular appearance in the show “Rosin vs. Kumptner” on Kabel 1. The positive reviews and enthusiastic feedback from guests spoke volumes about the quality and unique charm of the restaurant. But despite the success, there has been continued unrest in recent months. Irregular opening times caused confusion and uncertainty among guests.
On October 27th it was finally over! Using the hashtag #DreamGive Up, Weyh announced that he had to give up his dream after numerous obstacles were put in his way. “Unfortunately, many aspects and obstacles have led me to give up on my dream,” he wrote. The operators of the cult station, Volker Schlag and Kian Rohde, were disappointed with the end and emphasized that they supported Marko with all their might. Nevertheless, they are optimistic about the future and are already planning the next chapter in the cult station.
This is a hard blow for the visitors to the Kultbahnhof and the regular guests of the Heiweyh. If you would like to find out more about the operators' future plans, you can read about it at www.braunschweiger-zeitung.de.
