Christmas joy in the Emden harbor: The Christmas ship FS Aberfeldie celebrates!
A special tradition was continued on December 26, 2024 in the port of Emden: The offshore supply ship "FS Aberfeldie" was selected as a Christmas ship for 2024. On this occasion, the crew received festive greetings and gifts. Mayor Tim Kruithoff delivered a gift basket with Emder specialties on behalf of the council and administration of the city of Emden, while Seemannpastor Meenke Sandersfeld and Jens Peters from business development were also present. This was the fourth implementation of this tradition since Kruithoff's took office, such as nwzonline reported.
The "FS Aberfeldie", a 73 meter long ship, is a long -time regular guest in the EMD port and provides wind farms in the North Sea. The ship is traveling several times a week in commuting with containers. On Christmas Eve it will be busy at Südkai and will run out again on December 26th. Captain Nikolay Velchev and his crew were pleased with the visit on board and the associated Christmas greetings. After visiting the ship, a visit to the Emder Seemannheim took place, where the traditional Christmas service was prepared for Christmas Eve. According to emden.de the Christmas services of Meenke Sandersfeld and his team are organized and the Emden population is invited to take part.
