Watch out, drivers! On November 3rd, 2024 it will be expensive in Cloppenburg if you press the accelerator pedal too far! This Sunday the police are on the hunt for speeders on the city streets. Our tip: stick to the speed limits to avoid unpleasant surprises!
There is currently only one location where speed cameras are used: a mobile speed trap has been in use since 1:05 p.m. on Friesoyther Straße (zip code 49661 in Staatsforsten). A speed limit of 70 km/h applies here. Be careful because the exact location of the speed camera has not yet been officially confirmed! But remember: speed checks can take place anywhere in the city at any time!
The Dangers of Speeding
Anyone who exceeds the speed limit will face severe penalties! The road traffic regulations (StVO) are clear: fines are imposed not only for speeding, but also for other traffic violations such as following too closely or running red lights. So be careful, because the consequences can quickly add up!
Additionally, you should know that radar detectors are strictly prohibited in cars. This means that you are not allowed to use any devices or apps that warn of speed cameras. Paragraph 23, paragraph 1b of the StVO states that operating such technical devices while driving is not permitted. Your smartphone can be used, but the warning function must be deactivated. Follow the rules and protect yourself and other road users!
