Neustadt: Parking on Schillerstraße is now chargeable!

In Neustadt, a new parking ticket madness has begun! From now on, drivers who want to park on the eastern Schillerstrasse between Alban-Haasstrasse and Stiftstrasse will have to dig deep into their pockets. The city administration has introduced parking space management to regulate the rush through the new pedestrian walkway to the main train station. A resolution by the city council now makes it official: parking will be chargeable!

New fees and regulations

The obligation to pay fees was already introduced in March for the Alban-Haasstrasse and western Schillerstrasse, but the eastern part had to wait. The reason for this was the uncertainty as to how correct parking can be guaranteed. However, it is now clear: residents need a special parking permit, which costs 7.50 euros per month. This can be requested by phone at 06321 855-1818 or by email at parken@neustadt.eu. All other parking costs 50 cents per hour and a day ticket is not offered.

Paid hours are 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 3pm on Saturdays, with the second hour on that day being free. You can easily pay at the parking ticket machines with coins or bank cards, and cell phone parking is also possible in cell phone parking zone 632 003. The city administration is ensuring that parking spaces are now used efficiently to counteract increasing parking pressure!
