New residential project in Freital: Modern five-story building is being built!

A modern residential project is becoming reality in Freital-Zauckerode! Despite the challenging economic situation and rising building interest rates, the Freital housing cooperative Gewo is tackling the issue hard and is building an impressive five-story new building on Heinrich-Heine-Straße. With around a dozen construction companies and planning offices on board, living space for twelve tenants is being created here. The investments amount to a whopping 2.65 million euros.

The apartments will be between 38 and 98 square meters in size and will not only offer living space, but also storage rooms, a bicycle room and an outside office for the cooperative's craftsmen. “Everything has gone smoothly so far,” says technical director Nick Krause-Schwarzenberg proudly. The shell was completed on October 28th and the last windows are in use. Work on the facade and roof is also well advanced. The next phase, the interior work, is about to begin - and all in record time!

Energy efficiency for low additional costs

A highlight of this construction project is the innovative heating system, which, in combination with geothermal probes, ensures environmentally friendly hot water preparation. This system is intended to keep additional costs stable and low, which further increases the attractiveness of the new apartments. Of course, all apartments are equipped with balconies and can be easily reached by elevator - barrier-free living is very important here.

The developer is keeping quiet about the rental prices for the time being, but promises to take the housing association's principle of creating affordable housing seriously. The ambitious construction period is impressive: the energy-efficient building should be ready for occupancy in just one year. “We involved regional companies, which enabled us to implement it on time,” explains Krause-Schwarzenberg, giving hope for a promising housing solution in Freital!
