On Friday afternoon, June 21, 2025, a serious motorcycle accident occurred in the Gitschtal, Carinthia. The incident happened around 5:35 p.m. on Weißenseestrasse (B87), where a 53-year-old motorcyclist from Germany was involved in a tragic accident when overtaking a small truck. First aid was immediately provided by several people. This included the companion of the motorcyclist, the truck driver and a chance chapel from Steinfeld, who came by by chance, which was on the way to the regional march rating in Weißbriach. According to the Red cross Fast and correct first aid measures are decisive in such accidents. In particular, removal of the helmet, if the injured is passed out, can be life -saving.

The Red Cross points out that the helmet can be carefully removed to avoid suffocation. It is particularly important to initiate the revival in the event of uncertainty about the breathing of the injured person. The Red Cross also regularly offers first aid courses in order to better train the population in such emergency situations.
