A huge blow to crime in Kassel! On Monday evening, police carried out a major raid as part of their “downtown crime offensive,” sending the city center into turmoil. Between 2 p.m. and 10 p.m., civilian and uniformed officers combed the city's hot spots and seized a shocking amount of weapons and drugs. The emergency services discovered axes, knives, striking tools and even cocaine - clear evidence of the increasing threat to public safety!

Massive controls and shocking discoveries

A total of 78 people were screened and the results are alarming! During the raids on Jägerstrasse, several cutting and stabbing weapons were seized: three axes, various knives, a cutter knife, telescopic batons and even a baseball bat. The police are now investigating several people for violations of the weapons law. These measures are part of the ongoing efforts of the newly founded organizational unit (OE) City, which has been actively combating street and drug crime since May 1, 2024.

Particularly explosive: An 18-year-old with Bulgarian nationality was arrested in a bar on Holländische Straße in possession of 2.3 grams of cocaine that was already packaged ready for sale. There is suspicion of illegal drug trafficking and the young man had to come to the police station for further investigations. These raids were accompanied not only by the police, but also by the public order office of the city of Kassel in order to punish violations of commercial law.
