Hesse strikes back: 290 arrest warrants in the fight against crime!
In an impressive security initiative, the Hessian state government has sent a strong signal with its “inner city offensive against crime”! By the end of October, over 290 outstanding arrest warrants had been executed by the police. Interior Minister Roman Poseck (CDU) announced in the state parliament in Wiesbaden that more than 38,500 people had been checked since the offensive began in February of this year. “The inner city offensive is a great success and a central component of the security of the citizens of Hesse,” emphasized Poseck.
The offensive is particularly focused on problematic areas such as betting shops, arcades and trendy bars, where the police have significantly increased their presence. In Frankfurt, particularly in the Bahnhofsviertel, several raids were carried out that caused a stir. Cities such as Darmstadt, Frankfurt, Fulda, Gießen, Kassel, Limburg, Offenbach and Wiesbaden are taking part in this initiative. Poseck announced that an expansion of the offensive to other municipalities would be examined, as there is already interest.
Successful measures to combat crime
The measures are having an effect: the Kassel police reported a decrease in crime in the city center. This positive development is clear evidence of the effectiveness of the offensive, which aims to strengthen citizens' sense of security and revitalize public life in city centers. Hesse's Interior Minister emphasizes that the offensive is not just a short-term success, but represents a long-term commitment to greater security in the cities.
