Weimar-Niederweimar.A nightmare for drivers! The recently carried out “repair work” on state road 3387 between Niederweimar and Haddamshausen has caused massive disappointment. After the work, users of the road were horrified by the catastrophic result. Instead of a smooth road, there are now around 120 settlements, breakthroughs and cracks that have been replaced by unprofessionally applied asphalt. The result? A constant rumbling and jerking when driving!
The responsible authority, Hessen Mobil, reacted quickly. After checking the work, it became clear that the execution was anything but satisfactory. Now the road between the junction to Cyriaxweimar and the junction with the Niederweimar development area is being fundamentally worked on again. The plan is to remove the road surface four centimeters deep and then apply a new surface layer. This work is scheduled to take place in the week of December 9th to 13th, but only if the weather cooperates!
Hessen Mobil: Work was urgently needed
The urgency of these measures is undisputed! Hessen Mobil warns that the subsurface of the road was already severely damaged. In the cold season, water could penetrate and break down the asphalt further during frost. The result would be huge potholes and a road that would no longer be safe to drive on - a nightmare for all road users! During the work, the road in the affected section will be completely closed and traffic will be routed via diversions. Drivers, be ready!
