ATM blown up in Hohenroda: perpetrators on the run!
Early Friday morning, at 2:55 a.m., a huge bang shattered the silence in Hohenroda-Mansbach! Unknown perpetrators blew up an ATM and left behind a mess of rubble and shards. Residents were alarmed and immediately called the police, who confirmed the explosion on site. The fleeing perpetrators, possibly two to three people in a dark vehicle with HEF license plates, are currently on the run.
The building that housed the ATM is badly damaged. Shards of glass flew through the air and also hit surrounding buildings. Fortunately, there were no injuries in this dangerous incident. The police cannot currently enter the badly damaged building because demolition technicians from Wiesbaden have to arrive to assess the danger. Only after their assessment can the police continue their investigation.
Damage and loot unclear
The amount of damage is still uncertain, as is the amount of money that the perpetrators were able to steal. The situation remains tense as the investigation continues. The police are asking the public for information in order to catch the fleeing criminals and prevent further incidents of this kind. The night not only brought a loud bang, but also the question: Who is behind this brazen attack?
