Eleven lists fight for the ÖH election: Who will represent the students?

The preparations for the upcoming ÖH elections, which take place from May 13th to 15th, are in full swing. Around 55 mandates compete for eleven different groups, including the Association of Socialist Students (VSSTÖ) and the ÖVP-related action community (AG). Other with in the race are green and alternative students (grass), young liberal students (Junos), student lists (Flö), as well as two communist student associations, KSV-Lili and KSV-Kjö. These changes also affect the political decision structures within the universities. In Germany, for example, reforms have been initiated since the 1960s to ensure a broader participation within the university system.
