The Munich team got off to a strong start when ex-Nuremberg Yasin Ehliz and Taro Hirose secured an early 2-0 lead in the first third break. But the Ice Tigers were not discouraged. Jeremy McKenna, William Graber and Cole Maier turned the game around and put Nuremberg in the lead. Filip Varejcka secured extra time with his equalizer in the 50th minute, but Marcus Weber had the final say, scoring the decisive goal in the 63rd minute.
