Drama in Menden: Room fire with rescue of people in residential building!
Drama in Menden! On Sunday afternoon, a violent room fire broke out in a residential building on Gisbert-Kranz-Straße, which led to a large-scale operation by the fire department and rescue service. But before the inferno could worsen the situation, the brave residents managed to get to safety in time. Thanks to their quick action, nothing worse happened!
A team of numerous firefighters immediately started fighting the fire. They used a C-pipe to reach the ground floor and quickly put out the flames. After a few minutes, the operations manager was relieved to say “Fire out!” report – a triumph for the emergency services! The fire brigade also prevented the fire from spreading to the entire building, thereby preventing major damage. Respiratory protection teams subsequently cleared the building of smoke.
No injuries, but uninhabitable!
Although one resident had to be cared for by emergency services during the extinguishing work, hospitalization was not necessary. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured. However, the residents now have to temporarily stay in a hotel because the house has been declared uninhabitable for the night. A good effort by the Menden volunteer fire department and the full-time guard, who bravely ensured safety and quick help!
