festival highlights and awards

The DOK Leipzig Festival celebrated its 67th edition this year and presented over 200 films and exciting extended reality work. Among these were 73 films that fought in four competitions for the coveted awards. Particularly noteworthy is the German competition in which "Tarantism revisited" was honored by Anja Dreschke and Michaela Schäuble as the best feature film. This fascinating film illuminates the phenomenon of tarantism, in which women in the 1950s were taken by an uncontrollable dance thumb in the 1950s.

DOK Leipzig, the oldest documentary film festival in the world, has established itself as a central platform for documentaries since it was founded in 1955. This year a total of seven films with golden pigeons and two silver pigeons were awarded, and there were also honors of partners. A festival for the art and the storytelling of stories!
