Digital Advent joy: Zweibrücken’s calendar starts on November 30th!
The anticipation is great! The initiator Gerhard Schmidt, professor of computer science and committed churchman, announces that the Advent calendar includes not only the city of Zweibrücken, but the entire region. “This has reached wider circles, word is getting around about our calendar. This is a unique selling point,” explains Schmidt proudly. Many actors are back, while new faces, such as the deanery cantor Timo Ziesche, bring a breath of fresh air. The Schola from the Blieskastel Castle Church and the Project Choir 03 from Althornbach will also be heard for the first time!
A feast for the senses – daily surprises
Every day at midnight a new door is unlocked that contains musical contributions, craft instructions and recipes. The short clips, which are between two and ten minutes long, are intended to captivate viewers. Schmidt has learned from experience: “We have noticed in the past that posts that are too long are viewed less.” The popularity of the calendar continues unabated – up to 2,000 clicks per day are expected during the Christmas season! If you miss the articles, you can catch up later, and a table of contents makes searching easier.
All year round, the Internet portal “People in Zweibrücken” offers a variety of content from different communities to bring joy to people and bring “rays of sunshine” into their everyday lives. Schmidt emphasizes that those who don't go to church on Sundays should also be reached. An Advent calendar that opens hearts – that is the mission!
