The surprising numbers: Where do Austria's singles find their love?
In a current survey about partnerships and dating trends, it became clear where love in Austria and Germany comes from. A IMAS study showed that 20 to 25 percent of the people surveyed have found their current relationships in the circle of friends. At the workplace, the romantic feelings flare up in 16 to 20 percent of the participants. Particularly revealing: Among the 16- to 34-year-olds are more and more who find their partners through online dating apps, which is eight percent of this age group. This reports ORF OÖ .
The popularity of dating apps is also reflected in the results of the Parship study. Almost a quarter of the lovers between the ages of 18 and 49 have discovered love online. While generation z, especially the age group 18 to 29 years old, has an alarming high proportion of singles - 44 percent are unbound - older people, especially between 60 and 69 years, have been lined up in more stable relationships and 53 percent for over 30 years. According to the Parship-study , 76 percent of the respondents are happy in a relationship, but only 58 percent of the singles. This discrepancy illustrates how important stable relationships are for general well -being.
The surveys also show that men at 32 percent are somewhat more common than women (27 percent). A remarkable fact is that a third of the Gen-Z-Singles has never been in a relationship. This is an alarming indication of the changes in the love life of younger generations. The surveys carried out by Parship and Imas give interesting insights into the current relationship dynamics and the dating behavior in both countries.
