Today democracy in Germany is on the brink! The Federal Constitutional Court's protection was strengthened by a clear two-thirds majority in the Bundestag, but this was not welcomed by all parties. The AfD voted against this essential protective measure, which many see as an attack on the fundamental values of our state. The Social Democrat Schäfer expressed concern: "The foundations of our coexistence are threatened. The AfD wants a different state, a different society." In his appeal, Schäfer called on citizens to support the parties that are committed to preserving our democratic system in the upcoming federal elections on February 23, 2025. “The state system as we have had it for 75 years has proven itself,” he explained, pointing out the importance of the independence of the Federal Constitutional Court.
