Florian Kohfeldt after a big comeback: return to Bremen is imminent!
Florian Kohfeldt is back in German football. Having struggled with both highs and lows in his career, the now 36-year-old is now seeing significant developments regarding his future. Kohfeldt took over the management of Werder Bremen's Bundesliga team and led the club out of the relegation battle and almost into the European Cup within a year and a half. But his career on the Weser came to an abrupt end in 2021 when he was released and the club was actually relegated.
After a short time at Wolfsburg, which was also not successful, Kohfeldt questioned his coaching career and took up a position with Eupen in the Belgian first division. This ended prematurely for personal reasons, while the club was subsequently relegated. In September 2024, Kohfeldt then dared to take the step back to Germany and took over the coaching position at Darmstadt 98, the penultimate table in the Second Bundesliga. Under his leadership, Darmstadt 98 has regrouped and, with further success, could return to the Bundesliga in 2025 quicker than expected FAZ reported.
