A buyer is to be found by the end of 2025, while the sales process has already started. In addition to the petrol stations, the selling assets also include electric charging stations and the fleet business of BP Austria as well as shares in the operating company of the terminal in Linz.

BP plans to complete the sale by the end of 2025, with the reservation of official permits. Patrick Wendeler, CEO of BP Europa SE, explained that BP has significantly expanded his business in recent years. With this step, the company would like to give a new owner the chance to invest in the Austrian petrol station business. BP is now the second largest brand among the major branded petrol stations in Austria.

The strategy also includes the expansion of offshore wind and solar projects in a capital-friendly manner and pursues a limited number of hydrogen and CO₂ separator projects. The important projects include the JOON VENTURE JEERA NEX BP for the further development of offshore wind projects and the planned electrolyser project in Lingen to produce green hydrogen.
