Train brandy in Ahrensfelde: RB25 drives again, but with restrictions!
Train brandy in Ahrensfelde: RB25 drives again, but with restrictions!
Drama on the railway line between Werneuchen and Berlin-Ostkreuz! After a devastating train fire on Saturday evening in Ahrensfelde, the trains of the RB25 regional railway line have been on the road again since Monday morning, but the commuters have to adjust to restrictions. The stop at the Ahrensfelde S-Bahn station is omitted, and travelers have to switch to buses that drive from the Ahrensfelde cemetery and Ahrensfelde north stations.
The fright sat deep when the train driver noticed smoke and broke out the fire. Fortunately, all five passengers in the three wagons could be brought to safety in good time. But the consequences are serious: parts of the roof on the track have been warped by the enormous heat, which means that the train station cannot be temporarily incurred. The fire commissioner of the Berlin LKA has now taken over the investigation into the cause of the fire.
restrictions through construction work and fire
The RB25, which runs between Berlin-Eastkreuz and Werneuchen, has been struggling with restrictions since mid-October, since construction work on Deutsche Bahn impairs the route. The return to normality is uncertain, and travelers must continue to adjust to unforeseen changes. The incident has further tightened the already tense traffic relationships.
