Lichtenberg, Deutschland - The collection of Christmas trees in Berlin and Brandenburg begins this week. According to rbb24 starts the city cleaning from 8. Important information on collection

The BSR will offer two pick -up dates per district between 8 and 21 January in Berlin. It is important that the trees are placed on the roadside on the eve of the pick -up. Every year the BSR collects around 2,100 tons of Christmas trees, which are then shredded and used to generate energy. It is pointed out that illegal disposal or incomplete decaying with fines of up to 500 euros can be punished. There is also the possibility of self -disposal via the compost, since shredded trees rotten faster.

For more information about the specific pick-up dates in the various Berlin districts, a detailed list. The pick-up appointments vary depending on the district and can be viewed in a virtual calendar on the BSR website.
