Heavy bus accident on A11: Two dead and many injuries to tilt!
On Tuesday, January 11, 2025, a tragic accident occurred on Autobahn 11 in Brandenburg with a Flixbus that was on the way from Berlin to Stettin. The incident happened at around 3 p.m. between the Uckermark motorway triangle and the Schmölln junction. According to the police, two people, a 29-year-old woman and a 48-year-old man, lost her life. In addition, several passengers were injured-four of them seriously and seven more easily, as the Tagesspiegel reported.
First investigations indicated that the bus was removed from the highway to stop at a rest area and tipped over. A possible factor for the accident could have been the snowfall and the resulting smoothness, which significantly made the weather conditions significantly difficult. The police found that the bus may be too quickly on the road for the given conditions. There were a total of 14 people on board the bus, including the driver. The injured were transported to nearby hospitals, and some were able to leave the hospital again, such as the Kosmo platform reported.
rescue workers were quickly on site to take care of the wounded passengers. The emergency services, which consist of fire brigade, police and medical staff, have set up a tent for emergency aid on site and work under high pressure to stabilize the Situation. The highway was subsequently closed, which led to considerable traffic jams. In order to clarify the cause of the accident, experts from the police and an expert from the public prosecutor are currently being included in the investigation.
