Wasserstraße 68, 18439 Stralsund, Deutschland - On January 11, 2025, the New Year's reception of the Prenzlauer Rotary Club took place in the Hotel Uckermark. Prof. Dr. Hans-Robert Metelmann, Governor of the Rotary District 1940, held the address in front of a large number of those present, including redaries from Prenzlau and the surrounding area, partners, representatives of the club in Koszalin and guests from the Lions Club.

President Robert Wesenberg and Wolfgang Berlage reviewed the past year and Metelmann spoke about the different types of happiness and their symbols, including the four-leaf clover, the lucky pig and the Rotary Rad. The club supports numerous projects, such as the Kidscamp, and together with the Lions Club, the Rotarians collected a sum of 27,000 euros through the sale of raffle and mulled wine on the Christmas market. The funds collected are to be handed over to selected clubs in January.

Review and outlook on events

Wesenberg and Mortage, which took over the club's presidency in June 2022, have already organized several events. In addition, a district conference will take place in Stralsund from September 27th to 29th, 2024. This event aims at the choice of the new district team and provides for at least one person per club. In addition to exchange options and workshops, various program items are also planned, including a "Get Together" on Friday and a breakfast together on Saturday in Maker Port Stralsund. Free sleeping places are organized for the participants, and the participation fee is 10 euros per person that is to be transferred to the account of the Rotaract Club Greifswald.
