Psychotherapist's day in Berlin: Ampel drama strain the supply!

Berlin (ots)

Today the 45th German Psychotherapist Day (DPT) opened its gates in Berlin - and the shadow of the failed traffic light government is difficult at the event! Dr. Andrea Benecke, President of the Federal Chamber of Psychotherapists (BPTK), makes it unequivocally clear what the consequences of the political failure: "The delaying of legislation for mentally ill people that we have had in the past three years has been completely at the expense of the traffic light coalition of people with mental illnesses. This is fatal." It is a clear announcement!

In the middle of this charged atmosphere, the focus is on urgent questions about outpatient and inpatient care. The DPT program includes significant contributions to the discussion, including Prof. Josef Hecken, who will illuminate the challenges for psychotherapeutic care and self-government, and Prof. Dr. Tom Bschor, who will discuss developments in hospital care for mentally ill people. Time is forced!

Important topics on the agenda

At this two-day assembly of delegates, numerous other explosive topics are also dealt with: the fee schedule for psychotherapists (GOP), the psychotherapeutic further training and the BPTK budget 2025 are just as on the agenda, as are annual accounts and statutes. Birgit Gorgas, Stuart Massey-Skatulla and Dr. Jürgen Tripp steer the skills of the parliamentary of the psychotherapists from November 15th to 16th.

The event promises to become a key moment to turn into the health care of mentally ill people who have stagnated in recent years due to the lack of legislation. The delegates are required to find solutions in order to compensate for the lost years in the best possible way and to secure the future of psychotherapeutic care. The time has come to create pressure to act!
