Prater opens with spectacular attractions and pride commemorative!

Gabor-Steiner-Weg, 1020 Wien, Österreich - On April 2, 2025, the new season will be heralded in the Vienna Prater, and special events are on the program. This year the 50th anniversary of the death of the famous composer Robert Stolz, whose song "in Prater Blüh’n the trees" has become a symbol of the amusement park. On the occasion of this anniversary, a concert by the high and German champions will take place on the Robert Stolz monument on the Gabor-Steiner-Weg on June 27th. The Prater Association President also thanks the entrepreneurs to prepare numerous highlights in the amusement park, which will not be missing this season.

An exciting new highlight will be the "laser dance", an attraction that whirls passengers with gondolas at a breathtaking speed and 360-degree turns through the sky. In addition, the largest roller coaster in Austria, “Vienna Looping”, is opened in April, which is a must for adrenaline junkies. For families, “The Daemonium”, the largest mobile family ghost train in the world, is to be experienced in the sausage praternity until October 31. Furthermore, the "Wilde XXL swing" will swing up to 40 meters high and offer space for up to 20 people.

cultural highlights and reviews

The Robert Stolz Monument, which was built on December 31, 1985, is located on the Kaiserwiese, near the Ferris wheelplatz and the square of the milestones. It was built in honor of Robert Stolz, who was born in Graz in 1880 and died in Berlin in 1975. Artistically designed by Rudolf Friedl, the portrait bust bears as an inscription: "Robert Stolz 1880-1975 the master of one of his most beautiful songs in the Prater Blüh’n devoted the trees again".

In a review of the previous year, Alexander Ruthner, authorized representative of Prater Wien GmbH, emphasizes the positive developments, despite the challenges of the flood disaster, which had ended the summer season abruptly. He also calls the efforts of attractions to keep the Prater attractive in winter, such as the winter market.

an outlook on the future

Another important cultural milestone is the “Theater im Prater” project, the construction of which is planned for autumn 2023 and which should be completed by 2027. An annual added value of around 150 million euros is expected. The Prater also promises numerous events, including a New Year's concert, a large children's carnival celebration, spring highlights, a Prater picnic, the Wiener Kaiser Wiesn, a Halloween parade and the winter market on the Ferris wheelplatz.

For visitors who lose something during their stay in the Prater, there is a clear way: found objects should be handed over at the information switch at the Ferris wheelplatz or thrown into the find box. This is emptied regularly and all lost objects should be reported via the main finding office of the city of Vienna.

The preparations for the season are in full swing, and the Prater will come up with new attractions and cultural celebrations to offer visitors unforgettable experiences.
