New Year's reception in Berlin: Schleswig-Holstein's volunteers honored!

Bargteheide, Deutschland - On January 10, 2025, a New Year's reception will take place in Berlin, to which Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier invites. Among the 200 invited guests are six volunteers from Schleswig-Holstein, including Verena Balve from central fishing, Moritz Dietzsch from Kiel, Tina Hindermann-Schmidt from Langwedel, Esther Irmer from Kalübbe as well as Karina and Gerd Vahder from Braderup.

An important topic concerns the blocking of the Bargteheide motorway junction. From January 10, 2025, 7 p.m. to January 12, 2025, 6 a.m., the A1 will be completely closed due to demolition work on the transfer. The A21 in the direction of travel south is also affected by this measure. The diversion is signposted accordingly in order to direct traffic.

Details on the termination measure

The demolition work is part of a larger project, about which Autobahn GmbH reports. The intersection structure from 1966 has various defects such as cracks in the superstructure and corrosion damage to steel parts and no longer meets the current requirements for road traffic. Preparatory measures for the construction of a makeshift bridge are scheduled to begin on May 6, 2024. This makeshift bridge is partly led on a street side and is to be set up in September 2024 during a 57-hour part and full closure of A1 and A21. The demolition of the old building is scheduled for the end of September, and the new building, a 2-field overpassion structure in steel composite construction, is built in the same place. The entire construction work should be completed at the end of 2025.

Furthermore, the natural gas prices in Schleswig-Holstein are currently twice as high as before the energy crisis. Some basic suppliers have already announced price increases. The police warn of smooth roads in Schleswig-Holstein, especially in North Friesland and Dithmarschen after initial accidents have been reported. An accident on the A23 near Albersdorf led to injuries, while another truck accident caused disabilities on the B5 near Friedrichstadt.

A pleasant point in Schleswig-Holstein is the reopening of the lightning light games in Schönberg after four years of renovation work, which will take place on January 12, 2025. Owner Martin Bullbeck reports great response and emphasizes the long tradition of cinema in the village that has existed for almost 100 years.

In the sports world, the German national handball team won a friendly against Brazil with a result of 32:25 in Flensburg. The best thrower of the game were Renars Uscins, Marko Grgic and Lukas Zerbe, each scored.

The weather in Schleswig-Holstein is currently changing with sun, dense clouds, rain, snow and showers of snow. The temperatures fluctuate between 2 degrees in Handewitt and 5 degrees in Hörnum on Sylt.
