KTM rescue in danger: Creditors agree to a renovation plan!

The creditors of the insolvent motorcycle manufacturer KTM recently approved the renovation plan on Tuesday morning at the regional court in the Innkreis in the Innkreis. As the Alpine Officer Association (AKV) confirmed, the creditors receive a bar quota of 30 percent, which is to be paid out by May 23, 2025. This was the result of partly tense and hours of coordination, which was completed at around 2 p.m. The sum of the registered claims amounts to an impressive 2.25 billion euros, which illustrates the dimension of this bankruptcy, as well as the Kleine Zeitung reported.

The renovation plan was considered economically appropriate, since the company had only promised a repayment of around 14.9 percent of the claims. This plan, which provides for a continuation of production from mid -March 2025, will also be accompanied by a continuation guarantee of 150 million euros, of which 50 million have already been paid in a trust account. The central role in financing plays the Indian mobility giant Bajaj, which is in negotiations to provide fresh capital. According to AKV expert Franz Blantz, however, it remains to be seen who the final investor will be. There are currently seven potential investors who are interested in KTM, such as vienna.at noted.

The situation around KTM remains tense, since it is still unclear whether the required investor will be found in good time to ensure the repayment of the debts. The creditors see the goal of leading the company out of bankruptcy as economically sensible. If there is a closure and destruction, the creditors could only receive around 15 percent of their claims and the loss of significant jobs would result. The next steps are crucial for the future of KTM, and all eyes are focused on the upcoming developments.
