Secure up to 500,000 euros in funding for Hernals!
Miesbachgasse 10, 1170 Wien, Österreich - On April 9, 2025, the City of Vienna presented new funding opportunities as part of the Wieneu+ urban renewal program. This program aims to support innovative construction measures on existing buildings in the Vienna district of Hernals, which was selected as the third program area at the end of 2024. Vienna prefers solutions that contribute to climate neutrality and reduce gas consumption. "The goal is to find innovative approaches to lower energy consumption and increase the quality of life," said a spokesman for the city. The funding not only includes financial support, but also comprehensive know-how for residents, homeowners and companies.
A central element of the Wieneu+program is Grätzförderung, which provides up to 500,000 euros for climate motto housing projects. This funding benefits from a wide range of sustainable measures, including reducing energy and resource consumption as well as greening measures. Costs for feasibility studies can also be funded up to 30,000 euros. Applications for the funding can be made conveniently online, which makes access easier.
funding structure and support
Small companies can be funded up to 60 % of the additional costs for innovative construction work, but a maximum of 500,000 euros. Medium -sized companies receive up to 50 % and large companies up to 40 % of the additional costs, depending on the type of project. Natural persons benefit from a funding rate of up to 60 %, with a maximum amount of 100,000 euros. An example illustrates the funding practice: If a developer introduces ecological facade insulation, the additional costs are encouraged accordingly with a certain quota, which can be significant in the overall acquisition.
In addition, the "Grätzlmarie" funding initiative will support neighborly projects in the area next year. This promotes community solutions to improve the quality of life in dense urban zones. For example, the Miesbachgasse 10 project is highlighted as a showcase project that pursues a sustainable renovation with efficient heating technology such as an air heat pump and a photovoltaic system.
Sustainable urban development at a glance
In order to achieve similar successes, reference is also made to international programs such as Berlin's “growth and sustainable renewal”. This urban development program is committed to preserving and strengthening the functionality and social stability in cities. In Berlin, for example, projects that are partly co -financed from the European Fund for Regional Development are focused on climate protection and the improvement of the social infrastructure. These initiatives show how important urban development is for the creation of lively, diverse and sustainable urban rooms.
